Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated October 2026

Vefit Life is a participant in affiliate programs, including the FlexOffers network. When you click certain links and buy something, we may receive a commission. That commission is paid by the retailer, not by you, and it does not change the price you pay.

This page explains exactly what that means in practice, because "we may earn a commission" in a footer is technically a disclosure and practically useless.

Which links are monetised

Links to merchants and product categories are typically affiliate links. They are marked in the HTML with rel="sponsored" and in the article with a visible note where a block of them appears. Links to research, guidelines, and other publications are not monetised.

You can always tell by hovering over a link and looking at the destination.

What a commission does not buy

Our editorial process is deliberately structured so that commercial incentive cannot reach the ranking. Specifically:

  • Commission rates never determine order. If two products are comparable, the one that pays us less can rank higher, and frequently does.
  • We do not accept payment for reviews, rankings, or placements. No brand can pay to appear in an article, to be described favourably, or to have a competitor removed.
  • We do not publish sponsored posts. If we ever do, it will be labelled at the top of the article in text at least as large as the body copy, and it will be excluded from any "best" list.
  • We say what is bad about things we recommend. Every buying guide includes a section on who should not buy the product.
  • We recommend not buying things. Several of our articles conclude that the best purchase is nothing, and we mean it.

Products we have not tested

This is the part most affiliate sites are vague about, so we will be specific. Early in a site's life, it is not possible to have physically tested every model in a category. Where that is the case:

  • We write about categories and selection criteria rather than pretending to have hands-on experience with a specific model.
  • Articles that involve a commercial recommendation carry a note at the top explaining the basis of the advice.
  • When we have used something for a meaningful period, we say how long.
  • We do not invent testing procedures, measurement data, or photographs.

Amazon and other programs

We may participate in additional affiliate programs beyond FlexOffers. The same rules apply to all of them. Participation does not affect editorial content.

FTC compliance

The US Federal Trade Commission requires that material connections between a publisher and a seller be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. We aim to exceed that standard rather than meet it minimally. Disclosures appear on the page where the link lives, in plain language, before the link is encountered, rather than only in a site-wide footer.
